What’s it for?

Emmortality is a permanent collection of the words, pictures and sounds that people across the globe want to be remembered by. You could say that it is snapshots of their lives recorded in perpetuity. Imagine, a hundred years from now, or even a thousand, someone wondering what it was like to live in the 21st century, and answering their question by reading your words, seeing your pictures, or hearing your voice. But there is so much more…

How does it work?

Emmortality is not just another web site. It is the first carefully conceived and executed perpetual archive intended to outlive us all, even the Internet itself. To learn how this will be accomplished, click here.

When you sign up for Emmortality, part of your payment goes to fund a financial instrument called a perpetual annuity. This is a special kind of investment portfolio that is governed by iron-clad rules.

Here is the gist of the rules within which the Emmortality annuity must operate:

No one can spend the principal...EVER.

The income from the fund can only be spent in ways necessary to perpetuate the Emmortality web site and its decendants (more on that here).

The income from sales of Emmortality memberships is more than sufficient to produce enough ongoing income to fund the web site forever without ever touching the principal.
